The CYLD protein is involved in a rare genetic disorder (familial cylindromatosis). Researchers at the Large Scale Biology Laboratory show that a dysfunction of this protein that regulates the formation of cilia on the surface of cells can lead to a cancerous transformation of these cells types. With this work, they identify a new mechanism that may be involved in tumor development in these patients
